That Was Surprisingly Emotional

Safely in Joburg after a smooth flight on a big full aeroplane!

When we arrived at OR Tambo airport we had hours to hang around,  first until Julian arrives at 6ish & then for the flight which is at 9-20pm. So Mike and I  checked our luggage in and then went & explored. We saw a sign saying Prayer Room & went to investigate.

It is a lovely quiet spot for people to come & pray.

We went in & had a time of prayer. Then when we were alone Mike said “why don’t you get into the pulpit & bring me a message & then I will preach a sermon to you.”

So up I got & proclaimed the amazing piece of prose on Who God Is. I haven’t done it for ages. Saying it to Mike as my audience suddenly became very personal, especially after his Mom’s death…”when you are weak He is strong, when you fall He will catch you,  when you fail He will forgive you,  when you are hurting,  He will heal you, when you are broken,  He will mend you. When you are lost, He will guide you, when you face loss, He will provide for you, when you face grief, He will comfort you….” By then we were drizzling openly. It was very moving.  You could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in that chapel.  Then Mike got up & preached to me on the wages of sin. It wss a wonderful unexpected blessing!

I don’t often post two blogs a day, but I thought while I have data on my cell phone, I would. I hope to be back on whatsapp on Friday when we get to Italy & buy Italian Sim cards.

By the way,  I also got some exercise at the airport. .
