Swimming in the Rain

Tuesday

Today was the day…

It rained and we swam in it. The rain was due to come overnight, but by this morning, the balcony and balustrade were dry. As we hadn’t gone to the beach yesterday, we really were keen to go today. It looked pretty foreboding but we bravely set off. On arriving at the beach, the regulars were there. We put our bags down and covered then with our jackets. Mike set off on his run down the beach and I marched into the waves. The tide was low but coming in. The wind was from the north so blowing against the incoming tide. I swam out to the barrel with ease, being assisted by the wind. On circumnavigating the barrel, I headed back to the beach. Everything changed. Swimming into the wind, the waves whipped up and splashed more. It was great though. I can’t help but love swimming in the sea. According to Mike’s thermometer the temperature was 15.5C. After Mike got out, I carried on for 10 minutes or so by which time a shower had come over and the rain was steadily falling from the sky. Mike had moved our bags into a more protected spot. I dashed into the change room. I had 3 litres of hot water in a bottle and I showered with it, leaving me warm and refreshed. I thought about how easy it is to swim in the rain, but walking home in the rain, not so fun. I could hear the rain on the roof. Once I was dry and dressed, I went outside to meet Mike. The rain had just stopped.

A crowded beach – not.

We got home before the next shower of rain.

Breakfast and then work. It’s been a lovely day. More rain has set in this evening.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is for no rain, but we’ll see.

Proverbs 20:24

A person’s steps are directed by the Lord.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
