Thursday
Today was the day…
The water at Fish Hoek was c-o-l-d! It literally went from Mediterranean to Alpine overnight. After the hectic high winds of last night, true to the forecast, the wind dropped and this morning dawned still and balmy. There was a bit of cloud about and it did look like it may rain, but not enough to deter us. With the memory of yesterday’s warm sea spurring me on, we headed for the beach, pretty much dressed for summer. Mike went off on his run and I strode confidently into the sea. Woah! It was cold! I started swimming breast-stroke and that soon became crawl. I swam to the lighthouse and back and then met up with Mike who had finished his run. He also found the water really cold. He didn’t stay in long. By then, believe it or not, I had warmed up! As long as I was moving I wasn’t too cold. I didn’t swim my full 2km, but I did swim for 32 minutes. There was a little shower while I was out there, which was fun. Swimming in the rain. By the time I got out the rain had stopped. We got dressed and walked home pretty quickly!
The day had begun. I did not do too much computer work today, but I did do more sorting out of the Little Lookout which has come together very nicely. It’s spacious and comfortable. First guest in on Sunday. Will be on Airbnb just as soon as the entrance area is paved and there is a handrail up the stairs. 50 steps to the front door of this one.
Riana and Karin came for tea this afternoon. By the time they left it was 5pm. Mike and I watched a Downton Abbey and then we walked to the end of the road.
Almost the weekend.
1 Chronicles 29:12
In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
