Swimming in Safety – Cape Town’s First Shark Nets

2-26pm

It was the first time I’d seen the new shark nets at Fish Hoek. They begin on the beach – a rope, simply hooked through a brick of the beach wall. The rope then runs past this trailer and into the water…

Beach side of the netsYou get a good look at it when you walk along the cat walk to the other end….

SharknetsSo it actually is a huge swimming area, beach goers can enjoy this summer. It’s very reassuring to know you can swim in safety…

Swimming in SafetyTowards the end of the day, a team come up and lift the nets and also checking them for any sea life that could possibly have been caught…

Checking the netIt’s fun to watch. While we were on our walk, we went up the steps of the bridge…this is Sunnycove Station…

Sunnycove StationIt was good to be out and about again taking photos. They seem to have been sadly lacking from my blog recently! But that is about to change. 48 hours from now we will be on our way to Johannesburg, Munich to Innsbruckfor a 6 hour wait before flying overnight to Munich.  I think my family have adjusted to my daily song, “I’ve just got to do my blog!”  As far as I possibly can, I’ll keep it going, so be sure to come back and join us as we catch a train from Munich to Innsbruck – a distance of 163km, which is an hour and 45 minutes by train.

It’s going to be a great adventure! We will see ancient medieval hilltop cities, visit Rome, look at centuries old architecture and imagine the events taking place there in Bible times.  One truth stands sure:

“The Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.”

Psalm 100 verse 5.

Two more sleeps!

God bless you loads.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
