Today I got my reading glasses! Yes! They are going to make my life so much easier. Truth be told, my eyesight is not that bad, but when I’m doing my Bible reading in the morning, it’s first thing, and there is only lamplight, so I can do with a bit of help. !
Yes, the Bible even has something to say about eyes. In fact these are the words of Jesus…
Matthew 6:22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light”…
The commentator Barnes concludes about this verse: “All that is needful to direct the body is that the eye be fixed right. No other light is required. So all that is needful to direct the soul and the conduct is, that the eye of faith be fixed on heaven; that the affections be there.
You don’t need specs to look to Christ….
…but they do help to read His Word! 🙂
The Pope has resigned. That’s a shocker! I wonder what happened. Even his aides are said to be ‘incredulous!’ It will interesting to watch events.
Let me go and make first tea, and also dinner…lamb chops.
I’m trying to get organised this week because Mike & I are away for the weekend. In fact I’m taking Friday off! 🙂
