Smoky Sunrise

Thursday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day of a very smoky sunrise. There has been a massive fire burning over in Pringle Bay. This was it two days ago…

Pringle Bay residents had to evacuate their homes. This was soon lifted but the fire seemed to flare up last night and the strong wind blew the smoke across the valley. It resulted in a very smoky sunrise.

The air soon cleared and the smoke hasn’t been as noticeable today. I walked to Fish Hoek for some early morning shopping, seeing as it was too windy for a swim – the surf a bit too much of a washing machine for my liking…

I worked 8 hours today. David’s Low Dose Naltrexone arrived so we both started on it. I’ll see if I sleep better. It also came with a free 30 capsule bottle of  mega Vitamin D tablets which was a real score. Recently, I was lamenting that I didn’t ask my doctor for a prescription for them for David – they are the massive 40000iu Vit D pills that you only need to take 1 per week! The ones we buy over the counter are 1000iu.  It was the answer to a prayer I didn’t pray.

David came up for dinner. His blood test results are back. All normal except for his iron. On investigation, anticoagulants can cause iron deficiency and his was quite low, so now he’s on folic acid. Of course being anaemic can make you very tired, so maybe iron supplements will improve his fatigue. Claw’d is very fond of David and always wants to be around him. Here is David stretching with Claw’d waiting for some attention.

Exodus 13:17
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt”

Sometimes the way God leads is the longer way, but He always has good reason & our best interests at heart.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
