Shopping Spree!! It’s Amazing What You Can Fit In An i10

Last year Mike decided, because of the high cost of petrol and the massive mileage he does, to buy a more economical car. The Hyundai i10 is small to be sure, but after today’s shopping spree, it amazed us what we managed to pack inside it! One of the things we needed was a new washing machine. Initially, the store from which we made our purchase said they would do a deal regarding delivery, but we eventually decided, let’s take it home with us…Mike’s words, ‘sure we’ll get it in the car!’

The shop got us some help getting it to the car…

…. where with the help of a car guard it was soon loaded into the car and it fitted perfectly, with space to spare for the colour printer which was our next purchase…

What I didn’t bank on was Mike being keen to buy one of these….

….which also needed to find a spot in the back of the car. Mike’s a genius at this kind of stuff….

So it was a cinch…

We beetled home with the washing machine, the trolley, the printer, his boots, first aid kit and he & I all in his little i10! 🙂

Fungai (aka Rachel) has been here for the whole morning, allowing Mike & I to take the morning off and not worry about Granny. Also, she gave Granny a bit of a pedicure. The podiatrist lady who came a few times,  charges R220 for less than 30 minutes work! With a proverbial river of money flowing out of our wallets for Granny’s care, I’m beginning to shop around a bit for different options.

Meanwhile, when we were out I was “whatsapping” with Stacey who has arrived safely in Kuala Lumpur. She has a spectacular view from their room…

They are there for a month! 🙂 I’m happy happy happy for them!
