Wednesday
Today was the day the shark alarm went off. There were sharks in the bay. I saw on my cell phone I had 74 whatsapp messages unread on the neighbourhood watch chat site. On reading them it started with a resident saying “snake in my kitchen”. After a whole lot of other people commenting and some time passing, this message arrived:
I hope we never need Shaun!
Then came a string of shark messages followed by some super photos…
Turns out one of them was caught in the fishermen’s nets and this is them dragging it back out to sea…
Hopefully, it wasn’t harmed. I don’t think so, because the shark alarm has just gone off again. The shark nets have been taken in for the day, so I hope the people on the beach stay out the water. Got to love Fish Hoek.
It’s been quite a busy day with a work-filled morning. I did some shopping in the afternoon and cooked dinner. We are waiting for Mike to return. He went through to Rubicon (Montague Gardens) to pick up final equipment to connect the solar. He has got caught in massive rush hour traffic, but should be home shortly.
I baked another Christmas cake. This one looks better than the other and only took 4 hours. Let me go and set the table.
