Sermon on Sex

3-01pm

What a title for a blog! But after a fabulous Rise and Shine open day this morning, I went to my ladie’s Bible study and heard the 4th in a series called Twisted. The sermon was called It’s Only Physical. This series is by Andy Stanley, one of the best, most straight-forward preachers I’ve ever heard. As I reflect on my 32 years as a Christ-follower, I have to admit, I haven’t heard too many sermons preached on sex. What came home to me in his message is how sex affects the soul.  In the same line as Dr. Phil may say, ‘how’s that working for you?’ Andy Stanley may ask the question, “”Has sex outside of marriage made your life better or just more complicated?” ALWAYS, the answer is going to be ‘more complicated.’ There is just no sex outside of marriage that makes you feel better, good about yourself, heroic, fulfilled, loved, let alone holy or close to God. Sex is for marriage. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Unless the fire of sex is contained within the fireplace of marriage, Andy Stanley emphasizes it is Extraordinarily Destructive. You can read the whole sermon in black and white at this link:-

This morning’s Rise and Shine open day went off well. Here are some of the pictures…

Wayne’s zebra slippers also featured…

….and I snapped a photo of Pastor Barry Isaacs and his wife Rita. Rita is working at CCFm for the month of June…

The day was spectacularly good for the 1st June…

The admission I make today is that I am so so tired! I have put my apologies into the meeting I was due to attend tomorrow. After the ladies meeting this morning, I climbed in my bed and went to sleep! It was bliss. Too many working weekends behind me! This weekend, I will be completely work free until Sunday afternoon when I’ll take up the Rise and Shine reigns again and do show prep. Expect an extremely short blog tomorrow! 🙂

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

From Granny & I sitting on the patio drinking tea, God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
