See the Sea

Tuesday

Today was the day..

I made a new mental rule for myself…to smile when I see the sea. I don’t think I smile enough. When I went to the kitchen to make coffee and saw the sea, it struck me how much more I would smile if I smiled whenever I saw the sea. This is from my desk.

It’s just a trigger to smile when I see the sea. The sea is something to smile about.

Today, it was windy and the water was like a washing machine so we gave swimming a pass and I worked instead. I also went for what is possibly my last physio appointment. My tendon is much better. 🙂

I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and spotted this which was really interesting. I’m not an anxious person but I know people who are.

Even though I’m not anxious, I have tried it out a couple of times. It gave me focus and got me in tune with my senses.

Right now: I can see the sea, mountains, houses, beach and kite. I can touch my cell phone, mouse, diary and pen. I can hear Julian’s music, the clock and the wind. I can smell lip gloss and lemon. I can taste water.

Such a simple way to ground oneself, even when there is not a lot of anxiety.

Psalm 144:1-2

Praise be to the Lord my Rock. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going – specially when you see the sea.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx
