The day began in a very civilized manner when we woke up at 6-30am. I did the kitchen run and made coffee. Mike worked late into last night and it was time I did my bit. After our regular routine, we met Julian for breakfast at 8-30am. After getting home around 10am, I spent most of the rest of the day working.
Last night the first batch of teachers left for Abu Dhabi and tonight the second lot are flying overnight.
#362 of my 1000 thanks is for the messages that came in today from applicants who had arrived in Abu Dhabi. Good to hear from them.
The other good thing that happened today is I completed Mike’s Schengen visa application. I also made the appointment and now he’s all set to apply. It actually wasn’t as complex as I thought it may be. As I’ve got a British passport, the visa itself is free. We just pay the admin fee. Fill in the forms, add the passports, two photos of Mike, the travel tickets, marriage certificate, my passport, proof of address, proof of payment, make the appointment. Job done. He has the appointment next week.
Later this afternoon, Julian and I went for a lovely walk on the beach. It was beautiful down there…
We walked all the way back and along the cat walk to the very end, where Julian walked across the rocks and tried to get to a beacon but it was just out of reach….
Sunset from the Fish Hoek catwalk. What a beauty…
This evening we had a quiet dinner at home watching some of The Open golf. Mike, Julian and David are now going to watch a movie – Die Hard 2 to be precise! Time for me to move on upstairs! 😉
Some of the most meaningful moments of my day are reading the Bible in the morning. It never fails to keep me focused, grounded and on the right track. There’s always something to learn or a good reminder. It really is a manual for life and for abundant living. I’m grateful that I get to read it every single day. Our holiday is coming up and with it comes several different stops and excursions. I try to lay them all before the Lord, but today I was reminded of this…
Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans of a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
I trust Him.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
