Scariest Moment of 2015

The scariest moment of 2015 for me, happened yesterday! It left me cold and saying “thank you Jesus” multiple times.

I was driving back from Fish Hoek along one of the windy mountain roads. I noticed a friend’s garage open and thought it best to whatsapp her and let her know. I pulled over into a quiet side street and started the message. PushbikeA car came along and indicated to turn into the street I was partially obstructing. I put my cell phone down and drove another 200m or so and pulled into a building site to finish the message. With that done, I put my cell phone down on the seat next to me and set off on the short trip home. Another few hundred metres up the road, a toddler on a small black push bike sped down his driveway and right into my path. I rammed on my brakes and stopped about 3m away!

His father waved at me, called to him, appeared to be apologising profusely and tried again to get his son off the road.

For me, I took a deep breath – that was so close.

The little boy didn’t get off the road immediately. His far, hanging onto a white dog, bawled at him to move over to where his brother was also riding. I waited. When the child had finally got out the way, I drove slowly past.

What if I had been foolish enough to be sending that message while driving?

“Thank you Jesus that I had both hands on the wheel and both eyes on the road.”

“Thank you Jesus for your protection on that little life.”

“Thank you Jesus.”

Psalm 11:4

The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD is on His heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them.

“Thank you Jesus.”

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
