Friday
Today was the day…
We said a special thank you to the workers who have lugged all the building material up the mountain to build our house. There are 6 of them – Joseph, William, Gaba, Chow, School Boy and Gordon. Plus the builder Werner and his son Justin. If it weren’t for the pandemic, when we got the roof on, we may have celebrated with a braai for all today. Instead, I bought lamb chops and boerewors for everyone, included a few snacks and a drink and wrote a little note of thanks. They were thrilled. I wish I had taken a photo of them, but I missed that opportunity. I’ll try gather them all another time and get a photo.
When we first started building I used to take a photo from the wooden deck below the house…this was one of the first from that spot..
They began to change…
This was today…
Hectic!
The final part of Julian’s balcony roof is going on…
And Mike worked on the electrics today…
A whole lot of the solar equipment arrived as well as the windows for the top floor. Those were busy being installed late into the afternoon.
Things are certainly moving along.
On a different note, Julian’s friend sent him a school photo from 1978. I was at Lord Malvern High School and was in Milford house. This was the photo of all those who were in Milford…I’m the second row from the back, almost in the middle (10th from the left)…
Fun to see!
