Saturday Walk

Saturday

Today was the day…

Mike slept in and I went for about an 8km walk to Harbour Bay and back. I walked across Glencairn beach which was very pleasant. The (Elsie’s)  river is flowing steadily, so I needed to clamber under the railway bridge and across some stepping stones to get to the other side.

The train came past…

On the way back from Harbour Bay I went via the Glencairn community market and found the wetlands path goes from the old Glencairn side to Blackhill. I’ll definitely be exploring that a bit more in the future.

I laboured up Echo Steps and got home hot and tired. After a little rest, we video called Elsie and Stacey. Elsie was busy painting a printed out picture of a striped ball. She did such a good job.

Google reminded me of this photo from 2 years ago. Mike designed the front parapet of the house to resemble a whale, but when it got assembled, they didn’t quite get it right!  This is the view from the roof before the solar panels went on. It’s a view we seldom get to enjoy.

Another photo of 2 years ago…plastering the back of the house!

Now you can see how far we’ve come. The long window at the end of the photo above is the window opposite the stairs in the photo below. The door on the far left of the photo below is the door just visible above the nearer window in the photo above.

Such a lot of back fill and stone walls Courage has made.  One step at a time.

Quiet evening with rare take-aways for dinner. Mike has gone to pick them up.

Ephesians 2:17

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
