Fish Hoekites will be interested to hear that the Old Sun Valley Mall is set for a complete refurbishment. It has become a well known fact that the tenants have been given notice and are due to move out in the middle of next year. Rumour has it that the current owners of the Mall intend to demolish it and rebuild it up to a height of two and perhaps even three stories, eclipsing the size of neighbouring Longbeach Mall. In recent years, Sun Valley Mall has certainly been the ‘poorer sister’ but very convenient for those of us who don’t want to struggle to find parking and schlep into Longbeach for the quick ‘milk and bread’ shop. I took advantage of needing a few things to get on down there and for posterity, to take a few photos…

Onto a different note, one of the highlights of today was SOUTH AFRICA DRAWING against Australia (cricket)….oh my!! I was elated. We came so close to losing that drawing felt like a supreme victory. Certainly, the Australians looked sadly defeated! Test match cricket at its best. Faf du Plessis on debut -110 not out! Yeah! We snatched a draw from the hands of defeat!
