Pulled the Plug on the Grand Cruise

I’m so pleased we’ve done this. The shine of MSC was slightly tarnished when they did not deduct the $33 internet payment. At least now I get to fight for the bigger unused $64 internet voucher.  I wrote to customer care for that. We’ll see what happens

For today I phoned MSC and spent best part of an hour going from pillar to post as they figured out who I should be speaking to. The plan was to either get a fabulous deal on the 29 night cruise on which we are booked or cancel that and move the cruise to 2020 for 4 nights to Namibia.

I discovered a better deal was out of the question.

So a cruise move it was. Then they told me as I was moving a cruise and not booking a new one, I wouldn’t qualify for the 20% discount given because the ship left Cape Town 2 days late last month (it was supposed to leave 24th Jan but left 26th). When they told me that, I laid down the law.

“Ok! It’s either you give me that 20% discount or else I cancel the Grand cruise and I don’t go on the Namibian one either. I’m ready to walk away and cruise again another time.” I was speaking to the third person at MSC. He at least was apologetic that by now I had been on the phone 30 minutes. He asked me to hold for 5 more minutes and if it was longer, to hang up. He came back to me to say his supervisor had said I could have the 20% discount. He also said I must hang up and MSC will phone me back. So that’s what they did. The lady who I dealt with couldn’t get the cruise move through so I am supposed to expect another call.

What a palava! First world problems, I tell you.

But I’m glad we’ve made the decision. Julian’s company closes from about 20th December to 6th January so we’ll try plan something for then.

One of the things I’ve got a bit hooked on is this…

If you have ever wondered how money should work in your life, listen to Dave Ramsey for a bit and he will set you straight. People have the most interesting money stories and they are happy to pour them all out to Dave Ramsey!

So interesting.

From one Dave to another, here’s David’s latest. I love it…

Today has been a pretty busy day. I worked just over 6 hours. With Riana’s help, I’m beginning to catch up with all my work.  It’s almost the weekend and I am soooo looking forward to it!

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.

This is a Bible verse I memorized while still at school. I used it as a foundation block for my goal setting and future plans.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
