Psychologically Preparing Myself

Friday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day that Philomena and Dominic popped in. They are going on the return cruise. While we came south from Venice, they are going north from Cape Town in about 3 weeks time. They needed to finalise some details and asked what we had done. Last time they came, David wasn’t here. Today he was, so I asked if he wanted to pop in to see Philomena. She was our neighbour for several years about 25 years ago and David became friends with her older son, Sean. Stacey became friends with her daughter Hannah.  Sean was actually 5 years older than David, so David looked up to him and thought he was so cool. Photo was taken…

I don’t want to think too much about it, but David’s paperwork has been sent to China and today was being translated and uploaded to the right department for the invitation process. Perhaps one week for that. When it comes back, it needs to go to the Chinese embassy in Cape Town. Perhaps one week for that – or more? That takes it, best case scenario to 2nd March. Perhaps David could be on a flight out of town by 7th March. Less than a month. No wonder I want to take advantage of every conversation, every visit and every meal we have with David – he will be a long, long way away and in a time zone 6 hours ahead of us.  I’m psychologically preparing myself. When he went to South East Asia, his ticket was return. To China, it’s one way with the Lord there already.

Also, he’d better take a wooly jumper!

Or maybe something a little more robust! At least it’s warming up for spring! There will be interesting days ahead.

Yay weekend! I’ve done no exercise today, unlike Mike who has been for a run in the wind and walked down to the shops for salad ingredients. I’d better take myself off after dinner for a walk.

Psalm 47:8
God reigns over the nations; God is seated on His holy throne.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
