It’s a habit now. Each day, I stop by the Facebook page Prayer for Floyd McClung to read the update that his wife Sally posts. I’m one of the silent prayer partners. One of the people who have have never met Floyd and Sally, yet are following his condition and am praying for him daily.
Floyd and Sally founded All Nations and have travelled the world as ambassadors for Jesus Christ.
A few weeks ago, Floyd developed an infection which quickly turned into what appeared to be septic shock. He was rushed to hospital and admitted to ICU. His condition deteriorated and on life support, he hung to life by a thread. On 28th February, the Facebook page for prayer for Floyd was opened. Three weeks have passed since then and daily Sally eloquently posts the news of the day. Sometimes it’s quiet. Other times there has been close shaves with death, but underlying it all, there has been deep faith. Sally is just trusting God through this fire, not knowing how it will end, but just taking one day at a time.
One of the most amazing things that happened in the last few weeks was Floyd’s surgery. In a seriously weakened state, he had to go into theatre to have multiple abscesses drained from all over his body. These abscesses had been identified on MRI. Doctors believed that draining them was their only chance to save him. Telling the family that the chances of Floyd surviving the surgery were slim, they advised Sally to be prepared for the worst. Each of the family members said their goodbyes. Floyd was taken into surgery and the waiting began.
Inside the theatre a strange set of circumstances unfolded.
The multiple abscesses could not be found!
There were a few, but not the many that endangered his life. The surgeons appeared a little sheepish. Sally had told them they could do their work and she would do hers. Hers was to pray.
Today, Floyd’s condition remains critical. He is almost breathing on his own, but his level of consciousness is not as alert as the family and medical staff would like. On top of this, he has had a stroke and now has limited movement on one side.
Sally continues to trust God. Over and over again, she has expressed her faith in God and her surrender of Floyd to the Lord.
Jeremiah 30:17
“I will give you back your health, and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.
That’s what Sally is trusting for, but if God sees a different outcome, she will still trust Him. One day at a time.
Please pray for Floyd.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx
