Monday
Today was…
A good recovery day. My pain medication was:
- 00:17am – The severe pain pill x 1 (Targinact 10mg/5mg)
- 6am – Genpayne x 2
- 1pm – Panado x 2
- 6pm – Genpayne x 1
So that’s an improvement.
The first day for a while that I actually worked for a few hours. It was good to be back at work, but took quite a bit of concentration.
In the afternoon, I had a sleep which was great. Then I got the washing in and went to Echo to see today’s progress. I wanted to do a comparison photo. Remember this rock? This photo was taken on 12th November 2019. It was right at the spot where the front door was to go…
On 24th November, they got it out.
But it’s still there….
One of the areas of the house which was almost overlooked was the upstairs guest bathroom. This is the bathroom which will hold the old bath in the house. Everywhere else there are showers. We had to have a bath, so when you go upstairs, before entering Julian’s front door, there’s a guest bathroom with a loo, basin and a bath. As I stood in this space a couple of weeks ago, I said, ‘hey Mike what windows are in this room?’ He was like, “hey it’s a seldom used bathroom so there’s just one.” “But this view?!” I said. Then Julian came down and it was all over for Mike. We have to capitalise on this view, so Julian and Mike went shopping while I was convalescing and Julian made an executive bathroom decision and bought a really nice bath for the bathroom. Werner was contacted and we said we need a bigger second window in the bathroom, so we can lie in the bath (as long as there’s no drought) and enjoy the view. Today I arrived on site and Mike said, ‘you’d better go speak to Werner about the bathroom window.” So up the ladder I climbed and I sat where the bath will be – so there I was just pretending to chill in the bath and look at the view. Werner got an idea of where the window must be and how it should open.
So the window will start just higher than my foot. The metal upright will be cut out and the window will perfectly frame from below the sea to above the mountains. That’s the idea anyway. We’ll see how it turns out.
Today the house looked like this…
A good day!

We are hearing of more and more people getting the virus. I’m keeping my distance, sanitising my hands and wearing my mask, which is no hardship with my bruised swollen face 😷
