Please Remind Me To Go To Work Tomorrow!

1-51pm

Mentally, my holiday began on Friday! It was Fungai’s (the carer) last day and from the moment I hugged her goodbye,  I was on holiday. I set about re-organising, which I mentioned in Friday’s blog. Out came THE puzzle. This puzzle has made a Christmas appearance for many years. I remember my older brother Arnold doing the puzzle at Christmas time. It’s a wonderful memory as Arnold passed away in 2007.

PuzzleSo the puzzle is on a special table with chairs available for whoever wants to tinker away at it. I did the frame…Frame doneWith the crazy work hours I keep while working, even over the weekend I find myself waking up early. This morning, not long after 4am, I made Mike & I tea! :-0 Crazy hey! Then we both went back to sleep again. I woke up just before 7 and went downstairs to see to Granny. I made her tea and left it on her bedside table. She was fast asleep! I went outside (in my nightie) and watered the (back) garden! When I returned, Granny was still asleep, so I made coffee for Mike and lay in bed drinking it with him.  Mike got up and went onto the balcony, where I snapped a photo of him… I changed it into ‘sepia’ …

Mike sepia….and then found a function on my cell phone that made it a water colour…

Mike photo painting….which I liked!

Mike went off to church. I got Granny up and gave her a good shower, breakfast, more tea and put on Gospel Gold! I put lunch in the oven and wrapped up the gifts we had bought for Granny to give to us, so she could be part of it all. Then my brother phoned and we spoke for 30 minutes! Mike returned from church.  We had an early lunch and a nap and now I’m doing the blog! Please remind me to go to work tomorrow! Wouldn’t it be terrible if I forgot! (Don’t worry I won’t!)

I had great news from my friend Debbie. She’s only been a Christian for a couple of months. She woke early this morning and went to church and the offer was made for whoever wants to be baptised to come forward. She had taken her swimming costume and she went forward. So happy for her. Obedience to God’s word is the key to happiness in the Christian life.

Luke 11:28 But He (Jesus)  said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

While I’m typing this, I’m also in the middle of a Gtalk conversation with Stacey in Cambodia. She has arranged 60 mince pies for her Cambodian hotel staff, neighbours and anyone else who wants. They come, however, with the Christmas story in their language as well as Christmas colouring in pages for the children. Great way of reaching out to those around you in a foreign land. Not only making Christmas away from home meaningful, but also memorable.  Which also has a life lesson in it…getting priorities right….

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Beautiful weather in Cape Town. I think it’s tea time.

God is with you. He is mighty to save. He has His hand upon you this Christmas season. He sees each obstacle you face and He goes before you to hollyhelp you face each one. You are not alone! So trust Him. He wants you to turn to Him and know His Son Jesus Christ. That’s what Christmas is all about. 🙂

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
