…if this blog is very short. I have a date this cool wintry Cape Town day. It’s the Wimbledon men’s semifinals and there are strawberries and cream to be eaten and some, hopefully fabulous tennis to watch. While the game develops, I’m quickly putting the blog down to mark the moment.
I will look back on this blog one day and see that it was cool in Cape Town – no rain, just cool and gloomy.
I must now go and put together this typical Wimbledon treat…
…with dashings of cream.
I feel that watching tennis has a soothing effect that happily distracts from some of the torment that plagues our world right now. It’s never easy to watch endless news reports of the unleashing of hatred in various parts of the globe.
Tennis and various other sports to be watched, allow us to bury our heads in the sand, albeit for brief periods of time. Many of the psalms are against those who are evil.
Psalm 5:4 – You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.
Psalm 5:11 – But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.
Unravelling the woes of the world is an endless morbid task. It’s better to take refuge in the Lord than to try and figure out all the hatred.
So I will say,
These are the days and
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
