Thursday
Boxing Day. My sister’s birthday. This morning, around 7am, the Swellendam family headed home. It was sooo good to see them and I am so glad they came. We’ll see them sometime after the new year, once we’ve got home from our holiday and got the electrics for the next level of the build under control.
The rest of the day was planning for Egypt. What was amazing about today was how much rain fell. We had a couple of loads of washing to do and could only get it out in the afternoon. It did get dry though. I looked up Expat Explore’s packing advice…
I have never been to Egypt but Julian has – twice. He must be a pro at it by now so I am depending on him to get us the required foreign currency and get rid of any hustlers. We are on a tour, so hopefully the locals won’t harass us too much. All the tipping is to be done by our tour guide.
The internet at the hotel we are going to is known to be dodgy. Furthermore, we then head out of Cairo onto a cruise on the Nile, so internet there is also likely to be non-existent. My blogs will be written, but I won’t be able to get them online. I’ll have to post them on my return.
Meantime, I must go and finish packing.
Psalm 138:1
I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises.
Amen!
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
