We had such a lot of entertainment when we went to Silvermine Dam this week…watching these two dogs (not mine) with their long-suffering mistress (not me!). The brown dog was so competitive while the black and white one was keen and enthusiastic but most times not successful. First Mom tossed the stick…
Then the two of them swam like crazy…
Once they got back to shore, they pleaded with Mom to ‘throw it again!’…
Which she did…and off they went…sometimes needing to go quite far…
But it didn’t tire them out…”Please Mom, throw it again…”
This time the black and white one had some success…
But our brown friend had the last grab…an acute case of ‘stick possessiveness!
Today, Peter left for his road trip. I stayed at home and rested, watched the cricket and the tennis and am about to sleep! Granny slept well last night (after half a proper sleeping pill!) and has chilled today. Maybe after my snooze, I’ll take her outside onto the patio for tea. It’s such a lovely day!
I was looking through some of my Bible notes I made from last year and came across the one on Psalm 29:10 -11 “The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.”
What wonderful words. Sometimes in life things happen that are entirely outside of our control. Perhaps your house gets burgled, or your car stolen or someone drives into you. Maybe even, the weather has gone crazy and your home is flooded out! Things all around you seem to be falling apart, but guess what? God has not abandoned you. He has not lost control. He sits enthroned over the flood. He has His hand on all that is happening in your life. He is enthroned as King forever. You may not understand why things are going wrong; why God is allowing things to go awry, but you keep trusting him. He gives strength to His people – that’s you! Through all the trials of life, through the storms and unexpected interruptions, not only will God give you strength but He will bless His people with peace.
Hang in there, you are in His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
