Picture of the “Biggest Sinners in the Church”

5-04pm

Today in church, half way through the sermon, Pastor John announced that he had asked three people to come and talk about their sin and how they deal with temptation. He described them as ‘the biggest sinners in the church!’  We all looked around curiously to see who was going to walk to the front of the church and laughed when  Pastor John’s  three colleagues stepped forward. It’s not often we have ALL four pastors on the platform…

As for them being the ‘biggest sinners’ that is a joke! They all spoke very well. There was a time that I would have cringed at hearing such a sermon, with ‘secret’ sin very much before me. But God has forgiven me and by His grace that is all behind me! Praise the Lord!

Yesterday, Julian & I took a drive around the Peninsula. It was fun going over Chapman’s Peak, through Hout Bay and Camps Bay. We had a tea break at the Ambassador Hotel, in Bantry Bay. This is a place, I have visited a number of times. If ever driving round with family or friends, it is a great place to pop into for tea or coffee. If you want a special treat, go for a buffet breakfast. Best thing about the restaurant is the incredible view…this is looking back towards Camps Bay…

And this is looking towards Sea Point…

These photos were taken from the window of the restaurant. Magnificent!

This afternoon, we booked three flights for Julian to come to Cape Town in the coming months, including for Christmas. Then we took a 6km round walk to Nerina Gardens for their wonderful R7-50 cappuccino! It drizzled a bit as we were walking back, but not enough to get us wet. Now I’m home and putting the blog to bed before finishing prep for tomorrow. My mind is whirling with CCFm Share-a-thon which begins tomorrow at 7am.

Share-a-thon is the one time of the year that CCFm goes on a fundraising drive to raise the money needed to help run the station. This year we felt the importance of splitting the targets into Operational Costs, which cover part of  are our monthly expenses and into Upgrade & Maintenance costs which are once off donations. When we first started thinking of setting goals, I was a bit freaked out because the total is so high. I thought ‘how will we every reach it?’ But that’s the thing WE can’t reach it! God can! So we thought let’s just go for it and if God prompts the hearts of His people to contribute a lot, then the goal will be reached. If we fall short of the target, God will take the loaves and fish we have got and multiply them to meet our needs. So either way, we will get enough, with leftovers to boot!

Ezra 2:69 According to their ability they gave…

My Prayer: “Bring on Share-a-thon, Lord! To You Be All The Glory! It is not for us but for You that we do this!”

Adrian & Stacey Status: They arrived safely in Jahore Bahru, Johor,  Malaysia this morning. They have got new sim cards, have settled into their digs where they should be staying for the next 27 nights. Stacey says it’s very hot there and humid. She posted a status on FB to say how nice it was to be walking through a shop in Malaysia and hear Focus on the Family playing!

In His Generous Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
