Photos at Dawn

Wednesday

Today was the day…

I woke up super early – before 5am. I looked out our bedroom door – the sky was inky black.  No moon. It was still and windless. The sea was like glass. And quite low on the horizon was Venus, twinkling brightly and casting a tiny glow of light onto the sea. I’ve seen before, a full Moon reflecting a broad highway of light across the ocean, but never  Venus – which looks like a star from where we are – dropping a delicate bead of gold onto the surface of the water.  It was quite remarkable. And in my irritating spousal way, I oohed and ahhed with great abundance, waking Mike in the process. He grunted sleepily and showed his disapproval by pulling the duvet over his head and digging down deeper into the pillows. But my work was done. I’d woken him up!

He got up to go to the bathroom. By then I was back in bed. On his return, I urged him to go to the door and see the spectacle for himself. He was as impressed as I. It’s almost worth setting the alarm for. As dawn came, the effect diminished. At 5:45am, I took a photo and downloading it for today’s blog, I noticed the pin prick of (now rising) Venus still just visible along side the upper left cloud.

An hour later, the sun had come…

We were at the beach by 7am. Swimming conditions were great, but the water was colder than yesterday. We were home by 8:30am and had a cooked breakfast. It was a good start to the day.

I worked, did some shopping and we had dinner out.

All in all a satisfying day.

John 15:9

I have loved you even as the Father has loved Me. Remain in My love.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
