It is the strangest thing that Mike and I have done…probably ever! We booked a one way ticket to Munich! Quite bizarre! It’s not for any time soon – it’s towards the end of the year. We want to fly to Europe and sail back on the southbound MSC Sinfonia cruise … it’s something we’ve thought about doing but it seemed way too grand and out of the question considering our ‘Granny’ circumstances. Now those circumstances have changed, we relooked at it and discovered if we used our final voyager miles for the 1 way trip and then cruised back in a minor cabin, it wouldn’t be much more than flying us return to Cape Town. Yesterday I started looking at voyager flights and to my dismay the days we needed to fly were all booked out. So we put it on hold and went to the Ocean Basket for fish and salad (Gregory the happy Greek is the enthusiastic welcoming owner). On our way out, I said to Mike I am going to put out a fleece…if we can find a flight that allows us to use our voyager miles, we’ll take it and we’ll know it’s God’s provision. The voyager flight seats were just not available. But when I put in the flexi option of three days prior to the original, most were sold out, but on an ideal timed flight, there was a flight for us! We didn’t want to lose it, so after Mike prayed, we booked a one way flight to Munich!
Then we phoned my brother to tell him this crazy thing we’d done. Less than 24 hours have passed and after spending about an hour this morning with this view….
I’m pleased, and a bit gob-smacked and shell shocked to say that we now have booked and paid for our return passage as well as booking a flight for Julian to and from Europe! Yip! He’s coming with us for the first 10 days!!!!! What a wild development! So now we are looking at accommodation in Germany for one night, Switzerland for 4 nights and Italy for 4 or 5 nights. Lots of planning (and saving) to do!
Then this weekend Scott is coming! He is from the US and will be staying in Granny’s cottage for 10 days….his room is ready…
And the lounge is clean and tidy…
Maybe tomorrow you will meet Scott. If not tomorrow, Monday for sure!…actually just heard he’s in late Monday night, so probably you’ll get to meet him sometime this week! 🙂
Genesis 32:10 I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me.
Have a fabulous weekend.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
