Monday
Dear Elsie
Today was one of those perfect summer days that come along to Cape Town & are particularly wonderful after a spate of wind. The wind died down over night. The sun shone and the sky was (mostly) blue. Sunbathers flocked to the beach & water traffic was abundant.
We went down to the beach early – the water was not too cold and I got my 2km in with little trouble. We got home and the day began. The regular pre-holiday routine is underway with a morning swim, breakfast and work. We threw the doors open wide and let the beauty of summer flood in.
A few of the locals down at the beach have some sayings. We turn the ailments into cheerful opposites.
- I’m riddled with good health!
- I’ve come down with joy!
- I’m suffering from happiness!
Appreciating each day.
If it is still windless this evening, we may even eat outside of the balcony.
Summer in Cape Town for sure!
Psalm 9:9
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx 🙂
