One of Cape Town’s Best Kept Secrets

I’ve known about this for a number of years and have had a few of them over time. If you are a South African citizen and have proof of residence that you live in Cape Town, you are eligible for a Cape Town Green Card. It is not as expensive as the full blown Wild Card; it’s valid for a year and offers you 12 entries into some of Cape Town’s finest parks, including Cape Point.

I chose a beautiful sunny day to drive over Ou Kaapse Weg (OTM to the locals) and head for the Tokai arboretum….

Just after this sign, there is a security point, where you sign a form. A few hundred metres on, you’ll pass a farm on your right. Lazy looking horses stood sleepily under the trees…

Not far after this, you come across a very unassuming building that houses the sales office that sells the various cards.

I was the only car in the car park. Take with you proof of address, ID and they only need 1 photo….I had two…

Matthew sorted me out in no time, taking the cash…

And giving me the details of where I can use my card…

And quick quick, he zip-zipped my Green Card….I’m good to go for another year…

Spread the word….it’s such a great offer –  and makes me feel even prouder to be Capetonian!

Proverbs 15:30

Bright eyes gladden the heart; Good news puts fat on the bones.

I certainly don’t need any more fat on the bones, but my heart is gladdened!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
