One Month Til Christmas

Thursday

Today was the day…

That’s one month til Christmas. I know that some people don’t want to know this, but Christmas passes in such a flash that the earlier it can begin to be celebrated the better.  My work is going to hit a slightly more temperature pace next week (I hope) so I’m trying to take a few moments to appreciate the upcoming season. Our first Christmas decoration has hit the table.

I was introduced today to this prose by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”

It’s hard to slow life down and enjoy each day, but it’s worth it when I do.

Everyone is talking about the wind. It has been blowing again today. Norman took this photo and posted it to a local whatsapp group.

That’s a lot of wind. Not good swimming conditions.

We have new guests in the Little Lookout and more coming into the cottage tomorrow. Exciting times!

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
