Nothing’s As Easy As It Looks…

We woke up latish this morning (7-30am). I have to admit to feeling somewhat sleep deprived, even though my watch says I slept 8 hours. I think it’s because I’ve been waking up in the dead of night, usually thinking about the next strategy for getting the neighbour’s no-objection signatures.

Today we met with the lady from the plot behind us on the Simon’s Town side. It was a very good and profitable meeting. She will have her boss look over our documents on Monday and then she will sign, so she says. She is very nice. She came with her friend and they were charming.  We are hopeful. She will need to go through the same procedures when she comes to build, so we have already given her lots of advice. She will be signature 3, unless we manage to get a signature from the folk across the road on the Fish Hoek side who are home tomorrow. I think it’s optimistic because who wants to get their head into gear on something like this on the day they get home from holiday? I think we should wait a day before we go. Besides, I left a note in their postbox. Once we have their signature and the lady from behind us, we will only need two more.

God willing by next weekend, we will have everyone’s. That would be first prize for me. Then it will onto the Ratepayer’s Association to get their permission.

Nothing’s as easy as it looks. I keep reminding myself that I may need to realign my expectations and prepare for someone to object. Then everything will be delayed by probably 4-6 months. The Lord knows! Building a house on a mountainside is not for the faint-hearted. How grateful I am that we get to do this.

After the meeting, I came home and did some work, then I went to gym, shops and home again.

This evening, we went down to the Stag in Fish Hoek to hear David and Jack do an informal gig. It was great. They are so talented.

And now we are home and I’m ready to head for bed!

Luke 11:28

Blessed rather are those who heard the word of God and obey it.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Day 179 – Feeling a bit Bug Bunny-ish, but next Friday is the day I hopefully get the gaps closed! If I’m brave enough, I may post a before and after photo.
