Mom’s Day

Gratitude today. Stacey celebrated her first Mother’s Day! I got to celebrate my first Mother’s Day as a Gran. And even though we were not together, I still was warm with appreciation and gratitude to God for what He has done for us. Elsie was 2 days old in this photo. In 11 days time she is 1!

We treasure the memories of Moms past. Mike’s Mom…

My Mom …

And my beloved Other Mother, Aunty Wyn… (this was her reaction hearing Stacey had a baby girl)

What a blessing to have had these Moms in my life.

Today, Mike bought me flowers; Stacey phoned.  David bought me chocolate and a card with sweet words…

David cooked lunch for us…

And while I am grateful, a different side of Mother’s Day spilled out on Facebook when I saw this message…

And there are also loads of women who long to be mothers, so it is a bitter-sweet day. Trusting the Lord through all things is the only way forward.

This afternoon, I went to the gym for a swim. I am learning that I need to put in some serious laps in order to warm up.

We also swung round to Echo Rd and knocked on the neighbour’s door again. They were still not home. Hope they will be tomorrow. We will try again.

The other surprise about today is when I open my diary to 12th May to type up today’s Bible verse, David (who gave me the diary) has written a message for me on Mother’s Day. Sweet thought.

Matthew 7:24

Words of Jesus, “Everyone then who hears these words of Mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

That’s the plan.

As I’ve been typing this, I saw an email come in. It’s from the neighbour who lives in the UAE. She enclosed her signed no objection form! So that’s three down three to go. We may have 5 by Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully, the 6th will come in this week as well. That would be best case scenario.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
