Milk? No. No use crying over spilt coffee beans. If you have to do a scientific experiment, when a bag of coffee beans is knocked over, 302 coffee beans will spill out before it can be grabbed and corrected. I painstakingly picked up each one, dusted it off and put it back in the bag…
If you tried counting them, you would not get up to 302. I had already started picking them up by the time I took the photo and a whole lot had spilled inside the cupboard so those are not visible.
So that made up about 5 minutes of my Sunday!
Mike and I woke up late – 7-56am. What a treat. We spent a chunk of the morning poring over the house plans, mainly to figure out how my desk is going to work. As it is now, it will be off my bedroom in what will be a built-in balcony. The view will be spectacular – so will the glare, so we need to position it carefully so I can work from early in the morning. Mike, true to his creative self, is taking on the project of making a desk unit that will be able to carry all that is needed as well as be moved to wherever I want it. So if I want to watch TV, I can roll it into the lounge or onto the balcony. If I want to Skype, I just need to swing it round so the windows and the glare are behind me.
What I really want to do in this move is scale down. I’m a pretty disciplined person but not when it comes to clearing out. I procrastinate (as I do with housework). I can read through the Bible in a year, exercise every day, work 8 hours and do a daily blog but when it comes to sorting out stuff and trying to discipline myself to take little steps every day, I fall horribly short. If we are going to move from this house, I need to start getting into a habit of sorting out stuff…even if it is for 10 minutes a day. I just have to start. Mike tells me he is good at this (and he is), but that just encourages me not to do it. I can’t leave it to Mike. It’s much too big of a job. Come May 1, we will have been in this house for 30 years. We have accumulated a lot of stuff.
Today I shopped, we had lunch and Mike is watching the Masters golf. While it’s unlikely a South African will win, they are surely in the money. Hopefully both Louis Oosthuizen and Justin Harding will walk away with millions of rands each. Louis is tied 7th at the moment (+/-$400 000) while Justin Harding is 15th ($207 000). Hope they don’t drop any shots.
A good day and now time to do a bit of work. There is a lot waiting for me. Spring Break is over.
Psalm 89:2
I will declare that Your love stands firm forever, that You have established Your faithfulness in heaven itself.
God is faithful. That is set in stone.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
