New Day

Friday

Dear Elsie

Last night ended well. We had a quiet evening & got to bed relatively early. Everything calmed down. My mood improved. Julian had work to do. David was tired.  Neither missed visiting us & today was a new day.

At just after 5am, the water (finally) came back on and that also was a big relief. The cats found my lap…

Mike tried fixing the leaking hot water cylinder at the SV house – with no success so he is hoping to meet the plumber there tomorrow. The neighbours moved into the cottage (for almost 2 months)  so we now have 4 cats and a big dog on the property. I’m not sure my cats know this yet, but they will soon find out that the cats are not next door.

I worked 8 hours but this afternoon took a quick trip to Sun Valley Mall where an enormous tent has been put up. It is an ominous day – look at that dark cloud.

But back to the tent. I wandered over to the entrance and asked what it is there for. I got the inside intel. For the next two weeks, starting on Monday, they will have this tent full of special reduced offers. It’s like a massive pop up sale. “Get there early” said the lady, “before 9am.”  We will be going for the towels.

Meanwhile, inside the Mall, more specials. This is at Dischem…

Sugar free cookies? David’s favourite. I left a few boxes on the shelf, but 14 came home with me.

We are excited this weekend, because Gerrie comes on Sunday, so we will get to see him. Julian has a big consignment of books to get through and Gerrie is coming to help.

Other good news of the day, which I’ve just told Mike is that the glazing guy is planning to drop by on Wednesday next week with the final piece of paper for our build – he says he will bring the certificate and stamp our glass. At last we will be able to start working on finalizing the permanent occupation certificate. Let’s hope.

Big sport weekend. We’ll be watching.

A happier day comes to an end. When you have a horrible day, a better one is always ahead.

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trust in You.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx
