You know what it’s like…you buy something and ages past and then you wonder how old it is. It’s only when an item is bought for a specific occasion that I may remember it. Like my car. Mike bought it for me for my 50th birthday. Christmas 2004 also comes to mind. That’s when I got our garden swing and Granny’s water feature. Both still have a place in the garden. This Christmas they are 14 years old. The water feature may still be there in 100 years!
Today marks the day we bought a new carpet. Remember this one?
We finally found one we both liked, smaller than this and certainly not of oriental origin so a whole lot less expensive. We saw it last Saturday and we came home and measured up and Mike returned this morning. When he confirmed the sale, he called me and I jumped into action, cleaning, sweeping and finally rolling up the red carpet…
Mike arrived home and we laid the new one….
It looks so much better!
#977 of my 1000 thanks – new carpet and a hit!
After housework and coffee and a bit of lunch, I headed for the gym and then did a bit of shopping.
Julian arrived and the three of us went for a walk on Fish Hoek Beach. It’s looking lovely…
On the way back, Elsie’s Peak…
This evening we had dinner at home. David joined us as well and we all enjoyed Mike’s famous spaghetti bolognaise. We had a lovely evening together.
Almost time for bed!
Psalm 119:165
Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
