My Impression of Angus Buchan…

2-22pm

Apart from the Rise and Shine show, my main event today was to go to the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West to the Christian Art book launch for Angus Buchan’s new book “The Mighty Men Journey.” It’s how the Mighty Men movement began. Angus Buchan was there and spoke to the audience. During the morning, I had the opportunity to interview him and ask him my three questions. I had never met Angus Buchan before. What a jolly fellow! So positive and encouraging. It was so interesting to watch him. He is so very recognisable. He greets everyone as if he knows them and immediately puts them at ease. Once they have finished telling him what they want him to know, he asks their name and then reaches into his pocket and gets out one of these:

IT is a tiny vial filled with mustard seeds. He then tells the person to keep it in their pocket. When they are struggling in life to remember what Jesus says in Matthew 17:20

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Angus Buchan is certainly an encourager. As I watched him give this to a young lady he had just met, her eyes filled with tears. One minute in his company impacted her for life.

Age, culture, gender all no barrier. The hotel staff flocked to meet him. He made each one a priority, finding out names, finding our circumstances, asking where they were from. They gathered in droves to have their photos taken…

And then he prayed with them…

…taking his hat off each time, in a deep sign of respect of the One to whom he prayed.

After I had interviewed him, I had the privilege of praying FOR him.  Then I had my photo taken with him…

And as I left with my little vial of mustard seeds, I understood why he was so popular. Everyone is important. He can’t go anywhere without being recognised. His hat on his head, his smile on his face and he is ready for ministry. Quite a man!

It made today memorable!

On the way home, I stopped at the New Blue Route Mall for a bit of lunch with Riana. We both agree the Mall reminds us of an airport building! Did a bit of shopping and came on home. Dinner is cooked (I made double last night) and now my blog is done! All that is left is show prep. I think it is tea time!

You are in God’s safe grip! Never forget it!

God bless you!

Helga xx 🙂
