Saturday
Mike has been looking at blinds for the kitchen. He got a quote for about R1500. Then he saw blinds at Pep stores for R79 each, so he began experimenting. I wish I had taken photos. The blinds needed to go in the bay window and were slightly too wide for the side windows. Mike bought one of the R79 ones, measured how much had to be sliced off and that’s what we did. He found others that fitted the other windows just fine. Courage has been here this week painting and he finished putting the blinds up… this is the bay window…the one on the right has a twin the other side of this window and this is the one we cut to size.
Main kitchen window…
Well done Mike – he saved a R1000.
Today has been a cool drizzly day in Cape Town. I got up early and went to gym. Mid morning Mike and I went to find some upholstery fabric for the bay window seat. Mike’s busy working on that now…
When we get to move to our new house, this one will be rented, so it’s good to get these things done in advance.
We have just come back from Echo. In the week ahead, the workers and the builder are all taking the week off. They will be back just before Christmas and it sounds like they will be working there between Christmas and New Year. As I mentioned, it’s been a rainy day… when we first arrived there was some heavy drizzle, so we dashed up to the first level and took shelter. Mike used the opportunity to check out his wiring…
As the drizzle got a little less, we went to the second level…
Then we had tea with David before coming home.
Look what I saw on the news – it is from Australia in the home of a lady named Leanne Chapman…hectic…they actually left it there and it slithered away in the night.
Ephesians 5:19-20
Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
