Mike’s Birthday!

3-58pm

12 hours ago I was wide awake and gearing up for serving Mike coffee in bed. The coffee machine was ready to be switched on. I had my quiet time and did my Bible reading – timing was perfect. At 4-30am, I heard a car outside, stopped what I was doing and went and opened the door. David walked in! 🙂 Whispering quietly in the kitchen, we made coffee.  Then David grabbed the main present as well as his one, I took the coffee and the shirts and we went upstairs to wake the birthday boy. Mike woke as he heard the singing coming up the stairs! He opened the shirts and David’s present as well and then he got up to find out what I, together with Adrian and Stacey had bought him…..he was thrilled! He sent about putting it together, while I finished off getting ready for work. The neighbours, had they been awake, would have wondered what on earth was going on.

Mikes birthday presentSo here it is all set up!

I beetled off to work and left Mike and David having their coffee. Today was Jason’s last Rise and Shine as he starts a new job outside of radio tomorrow and so won’t be able to come in. He will be on CCFm on an evening programme. I will miss him…

Jason's last day on RandSI put in a couple extra hours doing show prep through to Wednesday next week, then headed home. I did most of the written prep for tomorrow and then quickly got into my gym gear! Riana picked me up at 12-45am and I went to the first session of personal training with our friend Mel. She says they call her the ‘smiling assassin’ and now I know why. I also think I have good reason to dig out the arnica oil. I don’t know if I am going to be able to get out of bed tomorrow morning. She worked muscles I didn’t know I had! It was hard work. I’ll be going every Thursday at 1pm. I think I’m going to need every hour of the next week to recover! 🙂

Dinner is done. Presents for David are finalised. His birthday is tomorrow. I think he may stay tonight here. We’re going out for breakfast tomorrow morning. Then may go through and see Granny. In the afternoon, he can choose the cake. In the evening, it’s Pizza and cricket. His final birthday event will be collecting my brother, Julian from the airport. He’s flying in from Joburg for the weekend. 🙂

This was the verse from Proverbs I read this morning. I read it on air (twice!). I need to memorize this Bible verse… more than that, I need to hard-wire it into my brain, so when I go to open my mouth, it comes out and zips it…

Proverbs 10:19 When words are many sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

We talkers regularly get ourselves into trouble.

God bless you loads!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
