Mike, Me & Granny…

3-07pm

Today David left for his solo roadtrip! From a Mom’s point of view, the distance he is travelling & the activities on which he is embarking, leave an underlying sense of ‘always on my mind’ anxiety. It’s not “I can feel my hair turning grey” anxiety. It’s just “I hope he’s doing okay’ kind of anxiety. When  a mama bird pushes her baby bird out the nest she must have a heart-stopping moment when  watching it free-fall before it finally finds its wings. It’s nerve-wracking but has to be done! You absolutely wouldn’t have it any other way, but it still doesn’t feel great!

Bye bye David! Have a good time!

(That’s his bike on the back…with loads of kilometres of driving and cycling ahead!)

Anyway, determined not to worry, I remind myself of Philippians 4:6-7 which says…
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.

Yes, I will take those words to heart and sleep well tonight!

Thank the Lord for daughters! Today Stacey took the day off and after we had waved David goodbye, we headed for the Mall to buy shoes…we were looking for sandals which we found, but we did have fun trying on these…

Not that we would buy them!

My new sandals…I like!

False Bay looked so spectacular today that when I was driving over Boyes Drive on my way home, I just had to stop and soak in the beautiful view…

The fairest, fairest Cape in all the world, indeed!

So now I need to whip up some dinner, check show prep for tomorrow and maybe get out and do some exercise.

Have a fabulous evening!

God bless you!

In His grip, all of us…

Helga 🙂
