Today we woke up really early and snuck out of Stacey and Adrian’s house without waking them. We had said goodbye to them last night, in case they weren’t awake when we left. It was 5-10am when we glided quietly through Swellendam’s deserted streets and onto the N2. It was clear and crisp. The moon recovering from last night’s eclipse shone bright in the early morning sky. Our trip was without event and we arrived home at about 7-50 – a journey of 2 hours 40 minutes including a coffee pick up in Caledon.
After stopping at home to unpack, I contacted the cattery and Alison said she was there and I was welcome to pop in to pick up Truffles. I left immediately and bought a very happy Truffles home. She came inside, had some water from her human cup…
…and was off out the door and onto the roof…
She is very much an outdoor cat and three nights at kitty camp was just too much for her. She very quickly returned to one of her favourite spots. When I visited her there, she looked at me with a great deal of suspicion, as if you say, ‘ you take me from here again and I’ll scratch you to pieces!’.
She is now sitting on my legs (I’m in bed) and very happy to be home.
While at the cattery, they tried to trim her nails. They got three done and then she apparently ‘went berserk.’ Oh yes, that sounds like Truffles. I’m surprised they got three done.
We lazed in bed for most of the morning. Mike did some golf driver research and it ended with us driving to the Pro Shop in Kenilworth to look at second-hand drivers. He had a choice of two and tried them out on the driving range…
This is the one he chose…Cobra Z-Fly. Mike was thrilled…
#737 of my 1000 thanks is for Mike’s new driver. His joy is my joy.
This afternoon, I headed off to gym and did 30 minutes on the treadmill (4.17km), burning 306 calories, then I got on the bike. I intended to cycle 30 minutes, but got listening to the second part of the North Point message “The Grass is Always Greener”…another excellent and encouraging message. You can watch for free here:
The Grass is Always Greener – Rocky Ground
So I ended up doing 30 minutes on the treadmill, 38 minutes on the bike and 30 minutes in the pool. It was a great work out – the message just enhanced it.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
