Pater Wouring Down the Mountains

Another glorious day in Swellendam! I love coming here and two nights is just perfect. I get to see the family, still do a bit of work and today I got to walk 9 holes with Mike. I just love Swellendam golf course. It’s just so peaceful.  One thing we saw was water pouring down the mountains, but when I went to say it and point it out to Mike, instead I said there was pater wouring down the mountains! I haven’t done that for a long time. Here are some photos from the golf today…

Aloe aloe aloe!

The cell phone tree alongside the 4th fairway…

The 7th hole. Mike parred this one today…

Mike’s driver broke! From the get-go today it was making a loud cracker of a sound when connecting with the ball. Mike has a new strategy in that he puts a tee down in front of his ball tee and focuses on that tee when teeing off.  He says it makes him more accurate. I thought perhaps this new sound was him being more accurate!

The driver has served Mike well and this crack just shows how much use he has got out of his clubs! The crack goes right across the base of the club.

Long and the short of it, Mike needs a new driver. Once we saw the crack, he used his 3 wood to drive and it was pretty effective, not as far, but effective none the less.

After golf, we went to the berry farm and bought a kilo of blackberries (R23 per kilo – I kid you not!) and a kilo of blueberries (R56 per kilo).

#736 of my  1000 thanks is for BERRIES! I must remember to take them tomorrow!

This evening Elsie saw her first fire. We braaied and she was absolutely mesmerized. She sat for ages just staring at the dancing flames. Eventually, she looked tired so we put her to bed.

Another first for me today was I finally saw the video that  David & Jack’s have been working on for ages. I am so impressed. Take a listen.

Proud Mom.

Full ten months since we were burgled. I needed this verse then…

Psalm 37:1-2

Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away . Like spring flowers, they soon wither.

It’s been a wonderful two days in Swellendam. Tomorrow we head home to Truffles!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
