When we woke up this morning, there was no water. It’s now 3-44pm and there is still no water. Here’s why – a 450mm mainline water pipe burst at 3am this morning and it caused havoc.
It cause a river of mud spewed under high pressure towards houses below…
The slush was spewed under walls and into pools and houses. What a mess.
And 12 hours later, we still have no water in the taps, although we do have a little water from the last rain which is very useful. We put the tanks in just in time.
We made good use of this adversity. The tap that controls the main water supply to our house was broken. If we ever had a burst water main within our property, we wouldn’t be able to turn it off at the mains. We were told by the municipality that we had to get a plumber to come and fix it. As soon as we called the plumber we would have to call the municipality to turn the water off to our house because the plumber couldn’t fix it while the water was on. Now imagine that? Trying to get a plumber and the municipality to our house at the same time?!
So it was never done. Years have passed!
This morning I said to Mike, “now is the time to phone the plumber!” So we did and he came and fixed the tap.
Oh how useful that was!
As my friend Valerie Gail always says, LFTB – Look For The Blessing!
That certainly was one.
#89 of my 1000 thanks – we got the water mains tap replaced! One less thing to worry about.
#90 of my 1000 thanks – I have made great progress in finding teachers for the upcoming interviews. Funny that this should land on #90 as it is 90 teachers that we needed to find. We are up to 69, so we need 21 more, but there are a few in the pipeline and Durban’s interviews are only on 4th December so we should be able to pick up a number more teachers for that venue.
For me it’s a relief that we have got to 69! Now it’s a matter of getting in a mountain of paperwork and formatting the portfolio for each and every one of them.
I can cope with that! It will mean 12 hour days, but I have the work to do and in a few weeks the rush will be over! 🙂
Psalm 108:1
My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul.
Oh yes!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
