When I took Granny into Ladies Christian Home for4 nights last week, one of the things the wonderful manager (Lindsay Long) said was “we can’t love your Mom-in-law as much as you do”. It was a practical, truthful statement. Granny came home with many gesticulations and murmurings of approval of the LCH. Last night as I again saw more deterioration in her walking – she’s so so slow now, I began to wonder how long it is going to be before she cannot walk at all. Just before I said goodnight, I sat on the edge of the bed and let her have a little talk. I looked into her eyes and she said, so clearly, so sweetly, “your face is beautiful!” Then she went onto mumble a bit, but it seemed that she was saying that maybe it is time for her to go to a frail care – or maybe that was what I was hoping she was trying to say! She did keep saying, ‘it was very nice’, so I presumed she was talking about LCH. It got me thinking about love verses care. LCH may not ‘love’ Granny as much as I do, but they sure look after her better than I can. Thought-provoking.
Today I spent most of the morning at Revelstone doing some recording …here I am with Andrew& Adrian…. And here’s a truth I spotted on FB…
Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
No dried up bones for me! 🙂
God bless you loads!
