Lock Down Day 8

Friday

Yeah! Today was very quiet work-wise. At noon, Mike and I had tea in the garden. I came inside to get the garden clippers to cut back the daisy bush.  Before – just on the right of the picture…

And after…..I cut it right back…

Now I need to go out and get rid of all the grass.

But it’s a dangerous thing having those shears in hand. I ended up cutting endless branches from the manatoka trees. These trees are very hardy and make great wind breakers. They originally came from Australia. We got them when we moved into our house 31 years ago, when they were recommended. Now the opposite is happened. They are apparently viewed as alien vegetation and nurseries are not allowed to sell them.

After spending a good hour lopping off branches, I was dusty and scratchy and hot. I came inside, had a shower and felt I’d got some decent exercise.

Flame lily 1 died. Joe and Lenore offered me another but with life being busy I never got to take up their offer. What I did so is take gloves and a trowel to the orthodontist last time I was there. With lock down looming, I guessed they wouldn’t miss another flame lily plant so with the receptionist’s permission, I carefully dug up a bigger single plant and put it in a packet with some of its home soil. I’m pleased to say that 9 days later it’s settling down.

I’ll be watching it carefully.

They have released the updated Corona stats for South Africa for today. We are now at 1505, an increase of 43.

Really hoping these are accurate and that we won’t end up spiking out of control.

John 5:24

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life”.

Jesus is bigger than Corona.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
