Lock Down Day 28

Thursday

Today’s the day…

That marks 4 weeks of lock down. Yesterday when I typed ’27’ I stopped for a second and thought, ‘only 27?’  It’s because my teeth have been in lock down behind brackets for the last 1 year and 162 days. 27 days suddenly sounded very short.

We woke up in our guest room. The mind is a powerful thing and sleeping there takes me back to when we moved into this house in 1989. This was the little house’s main bedroom for 6 years, until we had built and moved into the new upstairs master suite.  Staying in the downstairs room takes me back to a time when Stacey and David were little and there would be a lot of coming and going into our bedroom.  I particularly remember Stacey getting chicken pox and her lying on my side of the bed while I tepid sponged her to get her temperature down. She was about 4. David also went on to get it. He was 9 months and had it really badly. I think he may still have a scar or two from the pox.  As I lay in bed last night, I had sudden deep desire to get one of those days back. Return to a day when Stacey was 4 and David almost 1. I would lap up the day and embrace every second. I loved being a Mom. What a blessing.

Talking of mothering, today’s the day that my Mom would have turned 88 had she lived. 💕

Mike carried on painting upstairs. He also is reusing an old blind that he is repurposing for my study window. It’s going to look amazing. Today he finished the bathroom stand which is looking amazing…

In regard to Corona virus, today and yesterday  – two consecutive days I read Bible verses that mentioned pestilence.

The Corona stats for today…

USA to India…

South Africa’s stats have jumped today – we’ve had 318 confirmed cases and 10 new deaths reported. They have ramped up testing, so we’ll have to see what it looks like the in the days ahead….

Psalm 145:17

The Lord is righteous in all His ways and faithful in all He does.

Keep trusting.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
