Life Changes

Tuesday

Today was the day that…

I worked for about 6 hours.

Mike shopped. He went to Gelmar in Tokai and bought a stack of stuff for the cupboards he will be building for the rental unit. He also picked up our prescription for Vitamin D so we are all set to go for the winter.

I pondered life’s changes. I looked up what I was doing a year ago. Julian was here and on 19th May 2019 we we all went out for breakfast. We were gearing up for going to Swellendam for Elsie’s first birthday. One year on and there’s no going anywhere – not out for breakfast nor out to Swellendam for Elsie’s 2nd birthday. Julian’s visits are on hold. A year ago, I was going to gym almost every day. Now I’m supposed to be leaping out of bed and going walking at the time permitted but can’t bring myself to exercise behind a mask. I’ve got to get some exercise so I think it will have to be sweeping leaves and doing star jumps for the time being. This too will pass. I will look back at these blogs a year from now and shake my head remembering the strangeness of the season. We’ll say what we are saying now and that is that it’s a crazy time. All that was normal now seems so far away.  We have to be very patient and trust the Lord.

We popped down to see how Echo was getting on. I took some photos of how the house sits right now.

The ground floor (rental unit), edge of the balcony and lounge window..

The ground floor has an undercoat …

Ground floor front door…

Looking up to the first and second floors…the ledges sticking out are the balconies for our floor and Julian’s at the top.

Our floor (which is the first floor) getting its screed…

Small steps.

Psalm 34:17

The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.

Amen.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
