Yesterday on a whim, Mike said, ‘let’s go play 9 holes at Clovelly’. With work being a little quiet, we headed off and managed 11 holes. There were two 4 balls in front of us and no one behind us, so we played the 12th and 13th twice. This is the view from the 10th…
Perfect weather for golf. So here’s the thing – I haven’t gone to caddie for Mike for ages. I’ve been busy working and had less time. When he has played over the weekend, it is usually at Simon’s Town, which is a quirky course and it’s best to play with a helmet on – the zigzagging of golfers hither and thither across fairways and greens leads to many a FORE being bellowed from all quarters. I’m over it!
Having not seen him play for a while – a few months – I was so amazed at the improvement. He hardly duffed the ball at all. He played off the fairway most of the time – it was wonderful fun…
The gardens at Clovelly are looking beautiful…
Talking of golf, it’s the British Open happening at Royal Troon right now. Louis Oosthuizen made a magnificent hole in one. You don’t get too much out of a cell phone recording, but here it is…
What a shot! You may remember he hit an incredible hole in one in the Masters this year, which landed on the green, snookered another player’s ball and fell into the hole!
We will be watching a lot of golf this weekend. I hope the South Africans all make the cut.
We go into a busy couple of weeks, Mike & I. Next week we are off to a resort to meet up with Stacey and Adrian for a couple of nights and next months we are away for our wedding anniversary. 2016 is zipping by.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
