Soooo, here we are at a B&B in HERMANUS, called BALEENS. It’s an odd name, the origin of which I will have to find out. We found it on line. It’s a block from the beach. Our room is HUGE. It was almost the last one they had. I’m sure you are wanting to know how much we are paying, so let’s get that out the way, shall we? R1500 for two nights for two, including breakfast! That’s not bad at all, considering the view from our balcony….
When we look seawards from our balcony, we see this…
The beach a short walk away! π It is so quiet. This is JUST what I need….peace and quiet and no need to look at a clock. I am sitting at a little table and my view from here looking into the room is this…
Spot Mike lying on the bed! This is the kitchen and TV area…I’m sitting at that little table.
Mike is going into town on some business and I am going to lie on the bed and read my book. I’m reading the surprising account of Alec Smith, son of the Prime Minister of then Rhodesia, Ian Smith. I am so enjoying it and am thinking about how I could get it on air.
I’m thinking about Granny and wondering how she is. π
This morning as I did my Bible reading, the richness of the Word of God was clear. It never fails to amaze me how I can read through the Bible over and over again and still find freshness, newness, meaningful guidelines for life, to say nothing of constant encouragement. This morning, a Bible verse jumped out at me and I started to write about it. I posted it on FB today and up to now more than 100 people have ‘liked’ it and 15 shared it. Plenty of others have commented on it. If it has encouraged others, it will encourage you as well:It’s not about NOW! Genesis 50:20 (Joseph speaking to his brothers) “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
This is a wonderful reminder of several Bible verses:
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,β declares the Lord, βplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Also Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
And also, Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
That was Joseph’s experience. He suffered the worst kind of rejection – he was rejected by members of his own family. But that did not stop him from following God. The Lord blessed him and despite being unfairly imprisoned, he continued to trust God & acknowledge the Lord’s hand on his life. The lesson to be learned is that it is NOT about NOW. God has amazing, great things in store for you. Whatever hardships you are going through, take courage that God is setting good plans in motion – just keep trusting Him with all your heart. Acknowledge Him in all your ways. Your paths will straighten out in time.
God bless you ABUNDANTLY!
In His Grip,
