I was startled when I opened my email this morning and news of Nelson Mandela’s deteriorating condition was making international headlines. After perusing various websites yesterday, I suspected his state of health was worse than last week, which was why I wrote yesterday’s blog. I was lambasted from a dizzy height by one reader who suggested I was setting him up as a god. This is not true. His life has been inspirational and I believe God used Nelson Mandela to prevent a blood bath in this country. The whole world imagined anarchy would break out in 1994. Nelson Mandela is loved the world over and is South Africa’s most famous person. The news of his passing could come at any time. It will be a time to mourn. His daughter Makaziwe Mandela, told CNN: “It is only God who knows the end.” That’s the truth for Nelson Mandela and for each one of us. And so we wait….
Psalm 90: 1-2 Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
God is in control.
On a lighter note! Natasha emailed me this:
A little boy and his father visited the country store; upon leaving the store the owner of the store offered the little boy some free candy. “Get a hand full of candy” the merchant said to the boy.
The boy just stood there looking up at his father. The owner repeated himself, “Son get a hand full of candy, its free.'” Again the boy did not move continuing to look up in the face of his father. Finally the father reached into the candy jar and got a hand full of candy and gave it to his son. As they walked back home, the father stopped and asked his son why he did not grab a hand full of the free candy.
The boy with a big smile on his face looked into the face of his father and said, “Because I know that your hand is bigger than mine.”
Whatever your need may be today, place it in your Fathers hand, because His hand is bigger than yours.’:-)
And finally, this is for those who noticed the amazing ‘supermoon’ last night before it rose into the night sky….
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
