International News of Two Deaths….

1-38pm

I think yesterday when I said it was a ‘sad moment’ in our lives, people thought something massively bad had happened.  Big bad event would be a ‘sad DAY’. I tried not to mislead people by saying, ‘a sad moment.’ And it was sad, but not as sad as when we had to bury the cat. But I guess, the title was enough to have hundreds of people just checking that Granny was okay! 🙂  I’m pleased to say she is. I saw her this morning and she is looking fine! My last words, usually, as I leave the house are to say good morning to Benji and on arriving home, I check in with him first, so it was quite poignant when I arrived home today to no blue budgie tweeting me hello.

It’s a sad day for Britain as they remember the impact of Margaret Thatcher who died after having a stroke this morning….

Margaret ThatcherShe certainly left her mark…the longest serving Prime Minister of the 20th Century.

Talking of deaths, an unspeakable tragedy from this weekend was the horrible news that Rick Warren’s son, Matthew committed suicide on Friday. Most of his life was spent in the grip of mental health problems, suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts.  More details of his death are coming out but I think the most shocking is that it was a self-inflicted gun-shot wound. I wonder where he got the gun.  He knew of God’s love for him and he knew where he was destined to go after death. Very sad. My heart goes out to his Mother, Kay, at this awful time.  It makes any problems I have fade into insignificance.

2 Corinthians 5:6-7 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Pray for them today… Rick and Kay Warren…

Rick and Kay WarrenNo matter how big your problem, no matter how big your tragedy, God is with you. Nothing escapes Him and He is able to give you the strength, the courage and the comfort you need to see you through this time.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx
