The insomnia definitely came first! I had the prescription filled for the beta blocker and took half, but alas, as I dropped off the palpitations surfaced. Mike said I had slept, but if I had it was for minutes before I woke up. That was that then. From 11pm to 2-30am, I was awake. At 1-30am, we heard a crash in the kitchen. Mike went down to investigate. I had gone down a little earlier to open a window for Truffles, the cat, but instead of her coming in the black and white stray had taken advantage and sent a large drinking glass flying across the kitchen. When I heard Mike sweeping quite a lot of glass, I went down to help. We ended up watching a Grand Designs which is why I know we probably ended up heading back to bed around 2-30am. Palpitations over, I fell asleep in a matter of minutes!
Happily these kind of nights are not common.
This morning dawned chilly and overcast. I took my laptop to bed and had it in mind to book some train tickets for our Italian adventure and found ideal train tickets that will take us from Naples to Bologna with no changes. It always takes a bit of courage to pull the trigger on tickets like this, particularly as it’s still some months away. I concluded that it’s too late for that…we’ve already paid for accommodation in Bologna and Venice, so may as well find a means to get there. They are printed and filed, non refundable and non changeable!
#357 of my 1000 thanks is for those train tickets booked. There are others to book but from our arrival in Rome it gets a bit murky because if our flight is delayed and we miss our train, we will be in a pickle. I’ll look at options again and check to see how many of the flights into Rome have been on time before I decide to take a risk.
Anyway, after that was done (9-46am) and still in my pajamas in bed, I got on with one of two blogs I have to write about yachts! This is quite a hard writing job. John in Dubai, for whom I have written many blogs on the Maldives, persuaded me to give it a shot. I’ve written two and they (surprisingly) got the thumbs up from the client. The request came for the next two. The first one was fine, but the second one has left me with quite a lot of research to do on a topic of which I am entirely ignorant! Anyway, I will get on with it hopefully before the end of the day!
After completing the first blog, I got up, got dressed and went to the Mall to do some shopping. It was packed and the queues were long all over the place. At shop three, I joined the shortest queue I could find (with my three items) and the lady in front of me (who was on her cell phone) and standing in front of her bulging trolley, broke her phone conversation and asked me if I wanted to go in front of her. I told her I would love to go in front of her. High five! Act of kindness! Pay it forward next time, Helga!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
